1. Legend of the Origin of Qimen Dunjia

According to the Records of Ancient and Modern Books, Qimen Dunjia originated over 4,600 years ago during the battle between Emperor Xuanyuan and Chiyou; at that time, our ancestors Emperor Xuanyuan and Chiyou fought an unprecedented large-scale battle at Zhuolu. Chiyou was seven chi tall, with an iron head and copper body, invulnerable to swords and spears, and could summon wind and rain; on the battlefield, he created fog to disorient Emperor Xuanyuan's troops.
One night, in the middle of the third watch when everyone was sleeping, suddenly, a earth-shaking sound and intense light came from Mount Xuanyuan, waking Emperor Xuanyuan and everyone else.
So everyone hurriedly got up and ran over to see that a rainbow was slowly descending from the sky; from the rainbow, a fairy dressed in radiant light emerged, holding a long jade box nine inches long and eight inches wide. Emperor Xuanyuan took it and opened it, revealing a book of celestial script, Dragon Armor Divine Seal; according to the record inside, Emperor Xuanyuan crafted a guide cart and finally defeated Chiyou.
Besides recording the methods of weapon making, the Dragon Armor Divine Seal also contains many military strategies for marching, fighting, dispatching troops, and commanding generals. Emperor Xuanyuan then ordered his prime minister Fenghou to interpret the Dragon Armor Divine Seal into thirteen chapters of military tactics, twelve chapters of Guxu method, and 1,080 arrangements of Qimen Dunjia.

Later, it was passed down through Jiang Taigong of the Zhou Dynasty, Huangshi Laoren of the Han Dynasty, then to Zhang Liang, who simplified it into the form we see today as Qimen Dunjia.

2. Origin of the Class Opening

Qimen has rational principles, used for prediction, as well as magical Qimen, used for summoning spirits and controlling ghosts, arranging troops and formations, belonging to intermediate-level methods. This class focuses on teaching magical Qimen.
