Preface
"Detailed Analysis of Lifelong Destiny" and "Major Annual Luck" have very similar forms. However, they differ in depth and the scope of reasoning. The focus of "Annual Luck" is on the "auspiciousness and inauspiciousness" of each year and each month. This kind of "auspiciousness" or "inauspiciousness" of "Annual Luck" can usually be determined by the first level of four reasoning methods to create an "average" "Annual Luck" text. What are the "four reasoning methods"? They are "Useful God, Structure, Clash and Punishment, and Gods and Demons." The "first level" refers to things like: taking "甲 (Jia)" as the Useful God, considering "申 (Shen)" as "Extinction," considering "庚 (Geng)" as "Control," taking "Seven Killings" as the Structure, considering "Eating God" as having control, "Seal" as having transformation, "Blade" as having control... and so on to "Clash and Punishment, Gods and Demons," using the "Four Pillars, Major Luck, Annual Luck"'s "Punishment, Combination" to make choices.
Regarding these first-level Annual Luck texts, I have already provided a fairly detailed description and introduction in my book "Examples of Major Annual Luck Judgments."
"Detailed Analysis of Lifelong Destiny" is a "wide-angle, multi-faceted" analysis. What is "wide-angle, multi-faceted"? This can be introduced by dividing it into three areas: first, the wide-angle selection of reasoning; second, the detailed differences in auspiciousness and inauspiciousness; and third, the writing style. 1: Wide-angle selection of reasoning! If an average analysis is adopted, it is as mentioned earlier, strictly adhering to "Useful God, Structure, Clash and Punishment, Gods and Demons." This is obviously dominated by the Zi Ping method of the Qing Dynasty. Although these four are the mainstream of reasoning, in fact, those who analyze Annual Luck will still introduce non-Qing Dynasty classical fortune-telling techniques in an "uncertain" range. For example: introducing "incomplete Five Elements, the Golden Pig and Earth Monkey of female fate, the Nine Provinces and Eight Palaces diagram, the Star Chart Five Ghosts White Tiger..." and so on, and also examining "Monthly and Hourly Affiliations, Mysterious Understanding of Six Relatives, Relatives Discussed with Useful God..." These levels of reasoning are first all attributed to the scope of "uncertain theory."

One or two items can be adopted, three or five kinds can be adopted, or none at all, or twenty or thirty kinds... This question is often asked by readers in letters and emails to me: how many rules should be cited when analyzing Annual Luck? I always inform the other party with an average concept. Analyzing Annual Luck, but strictly adhering to the four mainstream items of "Useful God, Structure, Clash and Punishment, Gods and Demons," can be considered "
human-like." As for other issues, that is not something I can introduce by letter. This is within the scope of the "Detailed Analysis" topic. The "detailed analysis" of reasoning refers to carefully reviewing and discarding which one is the main one among many reasoning methods. For example: three Gengs in the Heavenly Stems indicate "literary talent," and there is no need to discuss the Useful God. If the Useful God is discussed, it only refers to other matters. The characteristic of "literary talent" has become a certainty. Also, Ding born in Mao hour, female fate husband disaster child widow... etc., are specifically guided to the first priority. 2: Detailed differences in auspiciousness and inauspiciousness - The auspiciousness and inauspiciousness notes of Annual Luck are generally based on the main body of "lawsuits, diseases, marital changes..."
"Detailed Analysis" must also take into account some details. For example: in a general "Annual Luck," if a "甲 (Jia)" day master is born in "午 (Wu)"
month's female fate, entering the "丙 (Bing)" luck can be regarded as a serious "marriage" problem.
If it is analyzed as "be careful of husband's disaster" or "marriage changes," it can be regarded as "analyzed correctly." However, when "detailed analysis" is performed, there are some differences, and it is necessary to distinguish between "divorce" or "loss of husband"... Regarding the detailed analysis of female fate, you can refer to my new book "Detailed Explanation of Female Fate."
3: Writing style! "Annual Luck" divides one year into twelve months, and each month is marked with auspiciousness and inauspiciousness. At the very least, two months are used as a unit for analysis. The number of words for auspiciousness and inauspiciousness noted in each month is about the same. There will hardly be only one line for the auspiciousness and inauspiciousness of the first month, and six lines for the auspiciousness and inauspiciousness of the third month. The average number of words for Annual Luck does not exceed one page, and the number of words for Monthly Luck does not exceed two lines. The only main purpose is to avoid "blanks."
"Detailed Analysis of Lifelong Destiny" discusses matters based on facts. If there are things to say, write more pages; if there is nothing to say, write a few sentences. Do not be afraid of the appearance of "blank" columns.
Based on the above basic concepts, briefly outline the main scope of "Annual Luck" and "Detailed Analysis."
The author's "Examples of Major Annual Luck Judgments," published in the year "已未 (Yi Wei)," has been published in five editions. However, the compilation of the book "Examples of Major Annual Luck Judgments," in addition to partially listing the "fortune-telling books" customs of the Qing Dynasty, its main scope of analysis is based on "Yu Chuntai's" "Regulating the Climate with Useful God" and the "basic clash and punishment" of "Year, Luck, and Pillar," supplemented by local "Gods and Demons" and the common methods of "Six Relatives"'s birth, prosperity, and storage. It does not introduce "Shen's Structure Useful God, Na Yin, Mysterious Understanding, Monthly and Hourly Branch Affiliations, Day Branch Sitting Position..." Therefore, "Detailed Analysis of Lifelong Destiny" is an extension of "Major Annual Luck," supplemented by the "fortune-telling books" pages of the "Yuan and Ming" dynasties, the "Nine Provinces and Eight Officials" circle diagram.
As for "Complete Flow Five Bureaus Clash and Punishment," because the writing is too broad, it will be introduced in a "special topic" separately.
Also, because the "destiny study" systems are different, brief analysis and detailed analysis have their own "reasoning" main points. In the Qing Dynasty, these differences did not cause much discussion. Because in that era, there were fewer people who could read and write, and everyone was accustomed to their own social circles.
For example, someone who is completely illiterate will not look for someone to "analyze their lifelong destiny in detail."
A "Jinshi" (successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations) fortune-teller would not seriously study something like "Facing the pig family is good, blood wealth is greatly victorious early, sending and following Ruoting is smooth, a lifetime is also warm and full..."

However, modern education is extremely widespread, and astrology is almost difficult to analyze solely through a single system.
There are still some 'statistical forms' displayed in 'seemingly classical but non-classical' aspects such as: 'Timing, pattern, strength of the day master, six relatives, gods and stars, Na Yin, clashes and punishments, star charts...' and so on. For example: 'Year of the Rat, Hour of the Rabbit, Month of the Monkey, Hour of the Tiger...' these types of reasoning that do not require any timing or pattern application... also have their reasonable auspicious and inauspicious answers.

There are even 'statistics' built upon 'reasoning,' which are not detailed 'statistical auspiciousness and inauspiciousness' based on reasoning. For example: 'Two Bing (Yang Fire) and two Geng (Yang Metal) both promote longevity, two Ren (Yang Water) and two Xin (Yang Metal) are related to parents... Spring Equinox at Mao Hour... Autumn Equinox at You Hour, separation of flesh and blood. Sitting at Hua Gai (a star) with a late child. ... The day sitting on 'Food' and 'Blade' encountering冲 (clash)! Damaging the eldest son. These 'statistics' that are not from the master’s words but are evident and should not be ignored. Therefore, 'detailed lifetime analysis' should adopt those 'reasoning' and 'literature,' to be appropriate, but it is a difficult task. Among the many systems mentioned above, any one can be used to analyze a fate chart. Among these many different systems, only 'Clash and Punishment' are 'general methods.' They can be applied universally regardless of the 'destiny pattern,' but the others may not be. Regarding 'Star Charts,' one can ignore 'wealth, officials, seals'; regarding 'Timing and useful gods,' one can also ignore 'Star Charts'... Generally, readers tend to prefer reading only the method they are accustomed to and criticize other 'Zi Ping' methods with their own bias... Therefore, authors who compile 'detailed lifetime analysis' find it challenging. If they try to be comprehensive and analyze a Bazi (Four Pillars) chart using different methods such as 'Timing, Star Charts, Na Yin, Clash and Punishment...' and so on, it becomes overly complicated. If they choose only one or two methods, they may not satisfy readers who dislike that particular reasoning approach. Therefore, among various considerations, the approach is to adopt a 'popular and refined' style, combining 'theoretical discussion' and 'interconnection of various schools,' as the guiding principle for writing. When readers read this book, it is best to prepare the following: 'Yu’s Use God Dictionary—Yu’s Use God Chart Explanation, Shen’s Use God Example Explanation—Detailed Explanation of Female Destiny.'
Since this article was published simultaneously with the sixth edition of 'Great Annual Fortune Cases,' there may be some hurriedness, and there might be some proofreading errors or misprints in the text. Please forgive any such issues. The comprehensive explanation of the square formation, clash, and combination! — Astrology Method Volume.
